About Education Inventory

Overview: Being a high school teacher can be overwhelming at times. Having more than one class, and even more than one subject, to prepare for on a daily basis takes time, creativity, and dedication. Education Inventory strives to bring the latest tips, news, and resources to make things easier for the secondary educator. Ideas for lesson plans and projects, classroom management help, book and product reviews, and the latest research in the field of education will be highlighted for a variety of core subjects. Updated frequently, Education Inventory hopes to make life a little less hectic for high school teachers.

About the Editor: Heather Scoville is a self-described “over extended” high school teacher at a private school in Iowa. She has a BA in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and an MA in Teaching and Learning with Technology. In addition to teaching full time (Biology, General Science, Physics, and Yearbook), she also advises several extra-curricular activities at her school and currently volunteers as the Corporate Board President of the Iowa Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program, as well as the Sunday School Superintendent at her Church. When not teaching or spending time with her husband and 4 year old son, Heather can be found writing on several entertainment websites and blogs. She also proofreads and edits elementary level science books, and dabbles in article writing.

Note from the Editor: Thank you for visiting my vision–Education Inventory. I took a roundabout way to get into teaching after working in scientific research for 5 years, but have found that education is my passion. I am forever looking for a more efficient way to plan for classes and reading the latest research in education trends and classroom management to improve my own instruction techniques. I found very few web resources on this type of information and decided to do something about it. Education Inventory was born in order to make life easier for high school teachers everywhere and hopefully contribute to improving education in the United States (and the world!). Feel free to contact me with ideas for the site or if you would like to contribute.
